Drain Descales

Over time, the inside of your drainage pipes can become coated with limescale, rust, hardened grease, and debris, especially in:

  • Hard water areas
  • Commercial kitchens
  • Older cast iron systems

This build up restricts flow, increases the risk of blockages, and puts unnecessary strain on your system. If left, the scale can completely fill pipes and stop water flow altogether. In this event, you will likely need emergency descaling services.

At Ready Jet Go, we offer professional drain descaling to restore your pipes to full capacity. Whether you’re experiencing slow drainage, repeated clogs, or just want to keep your system running smoothly, our team can help.

How It Works

01

Inspection

We begin by inspecting the
drainage system, usually with a CCTV survey, to assess the level of build up and choose the most effective descaling method.

02

Equipment Setup

Depending on the condition of the pipe, we select from a range of specialist tools including:

  • Picote® coring machines
  • High pressure water jets.

Our team also have access to a variety of nozzles and cutting heads, allowing us to break down everything from fat and grease to thick, hardened scale.

03

Mechanical/Jet Cleaning

Using the chosen equipment, we mechanically clear the inside of the pipe. The rotating coring tool scrapes away heavy deposits, while jetting can help flush out debris or assist with softer build up. This combined method is suitable for pipes, sinks, manholes, interceptors and urinals.

04

Full Bore
Restored

Once cleaned, your pipework is restored to its original diameter, allowing waste to flow freely again and reducing the risk of future blockages.

One-off or
Preventative Maintenance

Our descaling service can be booked as a one time clean to fix a specific issue, or as part of a regular maintenance plan to keep your drains in top condition.

One-off descaling is ideal if you're already experiencing slow drainage, smells or blockages.

Preventative maintenance is recommended for
properties prone to scale build-up such as:

  • Older systems
  • Commercial kitchens

How often should you descale?

  • Commercial properties such as restaurants, pubs, and food businesses, we recommend descaling every 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on usage.
  • Residential properties, an inspection one a year is usually sufficient, unless you’re noticing signs of build up.

In areas with hard water, more frequent maintenance may be needed to combat mineral scale.

We’ll advise on the best schedule for your property based on a CCTV survey and the condition of your drains.

Benefits of Descaling

Restores Flow

Removing built up scale and deposits
restores the full internal diameter of your pipes, allowing waste and water to flow freely again.

Prevents Blockages

Descaling clears the underlying cause of many repeat blockages, reducing the need for constant callouts or temporary fixes.

Protects Your Pipes

Regular cleaning protects pipes from long term damage caused by corrosion, pressure build up, and trapped waste.

No-Dig, Minimal Disruption

All descaling is carried out internally using mechanical tools or jetting, meaning no need for digging or damage to your property.

Eco-Friendly
 Solution

Unlike chemical based drain cleaning methods, jetting uses only water, making it a safe and environmentally friendly option for both residential and commercial properties.

Suitable for all Settings

From residential sinks to busy commercial kitchens and urinals, descaling keeps your system flowing smoothly in any setting.
